Does anyone know what is the Yager 200i Engine Model? It looks like it might be a Chinese-type GY6 with 62mm piston, but I can't find any specs. I'd rather have a Kymco with the standard GY6 engine than a Kymco engine because of the cheap replacement parts when racing in the GY6 class. The Yager 200i is a nice scooter, but Kymco parts & service are too expensive for racing, and GY6 scooters are really easy to find racing parts.
Anybody who has ever raced a Yager would know if the parts are interchangeable, so I'd be interested to hear from anyone who ever raced one, or even anyone who has done a rebuild.

If it's the same motor as the Like 200i, it's a 163cc GY6, with broadly the same construction at the head and rocker, but I couldn't honestly say below that whether it's the same or not.
Since the Like is air cooled and of slightly smaller displacement, I'd assume it has a significantly different engine than the Yager.

There you go - that's your answer!

I'm trying to find out if it's EXACTLY the same, same bolt spacing, etc, and if the engine/transmission parts are 100% interchangeable. If so, then I'm able to find parts anywhere on the internet and don't have to worry about getting parts only through Kymco. And since the Yager is fuel-injected, it could be converted to a carburetor if there's any problem with the fuel-injection system.

Put many miles on my Yager and had NO problems with FI. MUCH MORE reliable than any carburetor.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if the Yager engine is GY6-based?

Sorry I missed this question. I have no idea beyond the GY6 is a chinese clone of some kinda Honda aircooled. All Kymcos relate to Honda in some way but are unique since 1968.

That's incorrect. The GY6 is a clone of a Kymco engine. Whenever you hear something is a clone of a Honda product, ask to see the Honda manual for the original engine. Honda is fairly well known for making manuals and parts fiches for the engines they make, and they haven't made one that looks like the GY6.
The engine in the Yager is yet another version of the early Honda SH150 engine. It would be a crap engine to race, compared to just about everything made since.

Crazy canuk! There is still a lot of ice out there! You don't want to get hurt on your birthday! (my scoots are still hibernating behind a thick layer of ice in the driveway).
