Looking at my forecast for the next 15 days - this sunrise at 50°F looked to be the best bet.
Pitch dark - I gassed up and considered returning to the hangar.
The cons: Overnight storms blowing away in 25-30mph head-winds, branches down, black shiny roads awash with new, massive coverings of wet leaves - the LIKE's less than brilliant headlight.
The pros: good rear LED lighting, years of wet experience with these Michelin tires.
Yesterday was leafy, wet & deery:

Today was stupid with more wet leaves, strong winds & stormy skies:

I'm glad I took the ride. Nothing like the vista of clouds breaking over the farms - and the smell of wood smoke from their fireplaces!
(this time next month - I'll be enjoying the steam rising from freezing cow paddies)
