Title: Hear & Feel difference in oils?

Guy on another scooter forum went from Motul SemiSynth to Chevron oil in his Forza scooter - and swears that he hears and feels a difference.
Really?
If so, I'm thinking he needs to get that Chevron oil out, ASAP.

Oh, he is probably one who thinks his engine runs faster on 93 octane, too...

I know mine does.  I remember riding up this steep hill to the service station thinking my scooter was slow but after putting high octane fuel in it absolutely flew down the hill.  Amazing.  ;)

I bet the road uphill was North, too. That makes it double uphill....

I recall the massive engine improvement after draining a tablespoon out of a puke tube. It's these little things, like oil labels and stuff, that make all the difference.
My old Honda 90 in Calif. had more speed with a Hunt's tomato paste can/muffler, than a Hunt's tomato sauce can/muffler.
 If one was passing on a hill - you prayed it would not choose that moment to blow that can off. The sudden loss of back pressure would cost you a HP or two!

I had a Harley for a while.  I tried several different oils in that thing.  Certain oils you could definitely here a difference and how it performed.   So yeah I can agree to this.

I always thought 50 w all came from the same barrel....maybe that's just the 50 w they used in Pratt & Whitney radial engines... which are just a buncha Harley cylinders on a common crankshaft!

Right - you can absolutely feel the difference in oils, and the smaller the engine, the more pronounced it is.

Used to run a C90 on no-brand 10w-40 and it hated it. Switched to Motul 10w-40 (still mineral) and it was much happier.

The 4-stroke 50cc CVTs I've had (quite a lot, got a soft spot for them for sure) absolutely purr on fully synthetic oil compared to semi-synth or mineral. You can hear it running more smoothly at tickover, and feel it in engine vibes through the seat.

I've now just confirmed myself as an oil nerd
