Title: Break-in period for almost new scooter ???
Post by: Draco on August 27, 2018, 01:15:16 PM
The used 2016 Like 200i that I just bought only has 70 miles, so it would still be within its "break-in" period -- if it were a regular motorcycle.  I've looked thru the owner's manual but can't find any mention of it.  Do I just ride it like it has 10K miles?  Being a CVT, there is no way to keep the RPM down.

I'm assuming that there really is no "break-in" procedure, other than to get the oil(s) changed before 300 km (or miles?)

Break in is usually vary rpms as much as you can stop and go no more then half throttle for first 500 miles, change fluids then.  Then next 500 miles no more then 3/4 throttle.

Page #19 of the owner's manual details the break-in procedure.

I only see a maintenance schedule on page 19.

Makes sense.  About the same as every bike I've ever owned.  Thanks.
