Title: A good question. ...
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on August 26, 2018, 12:10:46 PM
Climbed off... (actually you 'step out of') my LIKE200i this morning at my coffee village and the town refuse men were working the cans on the street.
One fellow pointed at the LIKE and said,  "Nice scooter. Vespa ?"
I said , "No, Asian."
He asked, "Good value?"
Which I thought was a really good question!

And now, a German lady just looked it over, and gave me the Dickens for the Italian flag emblems on a scooter "which is clearly not Italian."
She also informed me that "German scooters are better", while her friend observed, "still, it's cute!"

So, as Meat Loaf  said -- "Two out of three ain't bad!"

I have Italian flags on my Like as well and my answer is simply "engineering by Taiwan and design by Italy".  ;)

I get asked a lot if my Like 150i is Italian and I can’t believe the dumbfounded look when I tell them it’s Taiwanese.  Not like surprised like wow that’s Taiwanese, more like what the hell is Taiwan?  So my new answer is no, it’s French Canadian.  Seems a lot easier

Like,  "Taiwan. Yeah, my uncle was in Vietnam."

No, that's Thailand --- different place entirely.

"Americans learn geography by going to war."

read that someplace. ...

You know.  That’s very true.
