Whaddya, howdy shave down that variator?

I shaved the variator slides with a 1 / 2 " belt sander, it fits very well, and by hook or crook it worked, made a template of wHAT I wanted, a curve , so the variator was on and off over 20 times, that's what happens when you don't know what you are doing, but do it any ways,.

A pretty darn impressive one, with that alternative engineering...
My task isn't nearly that complex. All I need is an aluminium bar, about 1" in diameter, with one end slightly chamfered, and the other end made with a flat spot and a hole. I'd post a drawing, but I haven't had the time to make one.
