Title: 2012 Kymco Downtown for Sale
Post by: ddarkone7 on April 23, 2018, 12:22:46 AM
For sale a white downtown 300 with 6795 miles, I had the seat redone yesterday to move butt stop back 4 inches and went with a beige cover instead of bblack, to cut down on the heat. Ive owned th scoot for 1 year but only rode it twice around the corner. Gas and oil has been changed, ive never had a chance to enjoy the scoot. Had knee surgery last year and the seat space will not work for me. Asking $2700 or best offer, Houston texas. Clear title, also replaced the battery last year right after I brought it.

What a deal! Where were you in 2016 when my 2013 DT300I was stolen and destroyed? Sorry you got to quit riding but sometimes we all have to finally hang up our goggles. Hold that 2500 for a while. You might consider a consignment with an independent dealer. We sold a Buddy 150 that way and got way more money than we could have done on our own.

Actually, I've been trying to sell it since last year, I just returned to this forum, and I'm not quitting riding, I just need to get a step through scoot or something where I can stretch my leg. The ergonomics on this one isn't working. I had the butt stop moved back, but that didn't help. If u know someone, I'm willing to go lower on the price so I can hurry and get something else. Scoot sells is non existent here.

I may be a little late to the party, did you sell your scoot?  If not, is it on Cl? Got pics? I'm several hours away but there may be some interest. I completely hear you, South Texas is not a great place to sell scooters...maybe Austin.

This has to be the deal of the century, barely broken in and a seat to die for!

Scoot is more comfy now, I purchased a new seat from the kymco dealer, but I still haven’t rode it yet, only been around the corner a couple of times. I was planning to keep it, but if u are interested in buying I will sell it for 2500, I want be riding until October anyway. It’s sitting on a trickle charger, I also put in a new iridium spark plug last month while the seat was off, I’ve only put 10 miles on it this year. So someone please come make good use out of it.

Heres the problem.
Having had to sell a 2013 DT300 against the new discount 300 can be a bitch. At 3999.00 the educated buyer says I can get abs etc all new for about 4K.

Even thought the DT300s power is superior it’s hard to get near 3k. So bottom line is around 2500.00.

You ever investigate that consignment idea I offered?

No consignment anywhere near me, it's been on Facebook, craigslist and cycle trader, I thought that was enough. Facebook, I have it posted in 4 groups, so that's more than enough.

We had a Genuine Buddy 150 some years back that was replaced by a Like 200i. What to do? We lived in Selmer, TN and we trailered it to Nashville, TN to a scooter shop, 200 miles. The shop took it in consignment and sold it at a good price about 6 months later. My point is I would have dragged it 500 miles to put it on consignment! Now, you have what I think is the BEST scoot Kymco ever made! I am prejudiced since I have had two DT300i ! It is worth it to let someone else put up with all the looky-loos plus it is in the interest of the consignee to get the best price! Plus, there are more serious people at a shop. You never know what is gonna show up in your driveway with craigslist! 10% is the going rate around here.

How much? When? Where was the buyer from? How'd you corral the buyer? All answers optional! Glad to hear you sold it!

After 2 years of trying to sell it, I took a chance to post it on craigslist in another city, got lucky, sold it to a local guy, 1700, one of the easiest transactions ever.
