..so, my ppl is down...DOWN!...won't fire..my a50 limping at best...
..both with suspected compression issues...
..and i finally buy me a good compression testing kit..(45 bucks at AdvanceAuto)...
..so i put th' lectric starter on th a50...(where it belongs) and the 748 belt from before...
..no good..running like crap and it seems that the belt is slipping like crazy...
..could hear it whirring during decelleration...loudly...
..got me a 729-18-30 belt at the local scoot shop...(they're coming along)...
..729-18-30 .. hey ART!!
..much better belt feel..(you really can feel your belt), but it was still running like crap, but i hadda get it warmed up real good to do th' compression test, which pegged out at 150psi, after six revolutions..
..i'm figuring that's too much pressure, which would indicate either valve problems or a carbon build-up, from what i've read..here and beyond...
..had just set my valves a hundred km or so ago, so i opted for carbon...
..swapped out my 20mm carb with the oem, and drilled a 3/8" hole in my muffler..
..well that was good..so i drilled another..that was better, so i drilled another!!
..last test ride i ran 85 kmh, up from 55 kmh when i started today...
..added some seafoam, and wow....i hope the next run is even better....

Nice guess you haven't played with the people yet,Who makes that belt,and for what model,i'm back to the stock one at the moment and rejetting all three of the peoples with mixed results,got my dremmel a couple week ago and what a tool,carved me some new needle jet positions for the hot rod made a big difference for my mid still trying to get the mains dialed running lean with the heat.The only one i could call complete is the silver 2005,put up on cl today along with an eaton beemer,need me some more room for the vespa project,and any cheap kymco's that show up this winter,then the honda's got to go.

Just got back from vacation, dropped it off yesterday. Should be about a week or two at the rate my shop usually works.

...i reckon so.....that compression tester is th' bomb...
..it ran as well as ever this morning on the way in to work...
..which is awesome, cause now i will have the opportunity to really get into my people....
..worked out for the better all in all...

..on the other hand, i ran my guilty up to it's fastest ever top speed today...and it's maintaining speed on the flats beter than before my troubles started...

Who makes that belt,and for what model
..i'll have to open it up...don't remember..
..i got it at my local scoot shop...40 bucks...
..so far, i'm liking it in the guilty...
..i think it'll be better than the 748 in the people..
..should reduce that mid range lag...

Been playing with mine Fine tuned the carb a bit more helped the mid, running the stock belt at the moment,cant hit those top speeds any more,Went nuts today found a drive face its for a 4t but i think it will work athena was the brand,then ordered the speed drive for the clutch side.Sold the eton beamer this morning no bites on the 2005 people yet.Hope i'll have all the parts by next week,for the next round of tuneing,will let ya know how it goes

..when it comes in, i'm going to start on the ppl...
..that 729 belt has given my a50 higher top speeds than i ever ran...
..a little slower on take-off, but i'm gonna put some +50%...(whatever that translates to) Leo Vince fly clutch springs in tomorrow...get those rpms up a bit...
..running + 15% Leo springs now, and they catch too soon.....
