Title: A "jerk"from a dead stop...
Post by: briandrum on July 12, 2010, 10:45:14 PM: I'm pretty sure it has something to do w/ my throttle, but I have no idea where to begin. When I'm at a dead stop and give her a little gas, she starts to go, then a second or 2 there's a small "jerk", then everything is fine...anyone have or had this problem? Any ideas what it could be?

...forgive me briandrum, but how many miles and what scoot?

Post by: Calothrix on July 13, 2010, 01:31:18 AM: If the scoot has a few miles on it, glazed over clutch pads could be causing your problem. If so, take some emory paper to them and wipe the clutch bell off with denatured alcohol and you should be good to go.

..i'd also go as far as to say that you might want to dis-assemble the clutch and lightly lubricate the clutches fly spring mechanisms...

..especially if there is any residue present within your clutch...clean it out with a good spray contact cleaner...

..belt wear and dust and clutch pad wear all create a dusty coating that can accumulete within your clutch, causing the pads to not all spring out at the exact same time...

..give it a shot!!

..cleaner is always better!!

Post by: blue on July 20, 2010, 02:18:11 AM: ya thats what my scoot is doing too. guess I better do some cleaning too. my scoot has 1500 miles but the clutch was new after 1100 miles does it sound like a cleaning time.
