I`m convinced I bought one of the best motor scooters on the market.
IMHO, these are the best for all around riding.
Kymco People GTI 300
Kymco Downtown 300
Honda SH 300i
Piaggio BV 350
All things considered, these are the best of the best.
I bought a GTI 300 sometime back and i`m still amazed this 300 FI runs and pulls like it does.
I have studied the specs and read a lot about the many motor scooters available now and am convinced the above motor scooter are tops.

What you said in spades and I don't even know what a Honda 300 is!

Honda's GTI 300. Especially now that the GT's gone I wouldn't mind seeing it here.
Probably won't though.

I can certainly agree with your logic and to that list I would add the Honda Silver Wing. I've owned two of them and rode them hard and fast and on long trips with narrie a problem. Kymco is one of the best kept secrets, I know of.

It would seem to me that 300cc displacement is just enough to get you out of town, or ride two up effectively.
250cc will do it, yet struggles a little. It's a notable improvement over smaller displacement around town/solo smaller scooters.
The smaller scooters are agile and downright fun when maneuvering around city streets !

The Honda SH 300i is almost identical to the Kymco GTI. With the Honda badge of course. 27hp 19 torque 278cc. The SH performance should be on par with the Vespa 300 series scooters.

Forgive me, boo....but of your picks I'd rank my desire this way :
Honda 300 SH
BV350
Kymco Gti
Kymco DT
In any event, the Kymco's are in great company.
A Silverwing is the ultimate, but a 300 Honda is for me the desired if-only-can--have-one-scooter. Forza or SH. And in red, or white.

To me, the Silverwing is in a different catagory. Too heavy and twin cylinder. Yea, I know they are nice.
Both Kymco s have the Honda SH beat in, performance and price. I`m sure they all would be nice scooters.
I would love to try out a Piaggio BV 350. Problem is, no dealers in my area.

Agree, not apples to apples. Large Maxiscooters are a complete other breed. Now when you stack them up I'd have to say the SW has them beat.

Dan,
Wish I could take you around looking at SW's with me. Help me pick out a good one.
One of my fav. youtubes ( next to naked square dancing at seniors summer camp) is still those old gentlemen doing a SW belt change on the shoulder of a southern highway.
Any big scoot that can do that is my kinda ride!

Hey Tom, that'd give me another excuse for another long ride to come up your way, hang out at Hortons and you could try mine out. I'd love to mate.

It's a shame that Kymco is dropping the HIT and DT. Both powerful machines. The new 300 is a bit less hp.
