I would like to wish all those in USA a Happy Independence Day !
Perhaps a little time spent upon reflection of the cause and effect, not to mention change since that time.
Pics of Chris Christie sunbathing on a closed beach, cordoned off to prevent public access raises an eyebrow, to say the least.

Probably to keep Green Peace from trying to push him back in the water.

Thanks Redk. The ole U.S. of A. has come a long way since 1776, granted, and not always for the betterment, I'm sorry to say. Bur now a new day is dawning. We now have a president who is not afraid to mention GOD and acknowledges that America can never be great again without Him. I believe he truly wants our country to be all that it can be. For all of this, I am very grateful on this independence day.

I preferred the first one with Will Smith in it.

Just wondering does that capitalized Him refer to Trump? I'm sure HE sees it that way! ::) Any way, Happy Birthday America from a Rhode Island Yankee.

Thank you, Red! Now if we can just get most of the population to read this county's Constitution, they might figure out what all the fightin' was about!

Happy 4th everyone!
I for one am thankful to have the right to speak ones thoughts without oppression and to fight back against those who wish to silence them. There are a lot of forces at work in that regard. I'd like to do what I can to not help it on its way. These are far from the best of times in the US, and I and may friends and family members have a lot to be truly afraid of. I hope we move forward, and not backward to the past we fought out of as many wish to have us.

Thanks Red, you too buddy. I celebrate the ideal that is the 4th of July. Unfortunately the reality in recent years falls way, way short.

We enjoyed the cutest little parade in a small town in southern Idaho on the 4th !
Nice people there.
It was Very hot and no one stayed around after it ended.
We then watched fireworks in Las Vegas that evening, mostly from a distance. They were all over the place !

Would that be Melba, perhaps? Or somewhere closer to the Nevada border?

No, we were in Glenns Ferry for the parade
It had been a river fording spot on the Oregon Trail before the fellow Glenn developed the ferry.

Ah, yes. They used to have the Three Island Crossing Oregon Trail re-enactment there every year, but they stopped for 6 years after having a few animals drown. Going to start it back up again this August.

Oops!
That, would not be good at all.
Biggest surprise for me was I only saw one boat, moored.
And a half dozen folks with an inflatable raft and 3 or 4 float tubes.
Two nice ramps, though, and good parking to serve them.
Here, there are so many people and boats of all kinds in the water it is hazardous!
