Title: Overfillded oil

Hello
I overfilled my oil a little bit, it is about 3mm (0.12 inch) over the crossed marks on the stick, must i do something about it or just leave it.
When i filled it the oil in the engine was warm, had only 20% of the stick, now when i messure its cold.

I'd drain out the excess.

Me too. In fact I have a large plastic syringe and a short length of plastic piping in the shed for this very purpose.

Alternatively, loosening the drainbolt enough for the excess to dribble out is an effective, if rather messy way to do it.

I'd warm the engine first though, but be careful of hot oil.

Well, every time I  have my oil changed at my Scion xB dealer the oil level is a 1/2" above the full mark on dipstick. Never an issue....but it is easy enough to remove a bit of oil from a scooter....I'd do it for peace of mind. (must remove wheel to access the  Scion's drain plug)

Thats not a lot of oil to worry about, but it wouldn't hurt to take a turkey baster and suck a little out of the oil fill hole.

Great feedback everyone, i will take a syringe to take out som , i have just the thing from my bleeding kit for the brakes on mountain bike!

Now i only have to figure out how to remove the rear breakpad after my oil incedent 😂

Aw c'mon !!!

You guys really overthink things.

If you are concerned about the small over fill, toss some old newspaper on the ground under the scooter, remove the dipstick, jostle the scooter to that side, re-check fill level, wipe off any excess slosh, deposit oily papers in outdoor trash receptacle for pickup.

Easier to do than reading this.

Hey, Red! We tend to dote on our machines! Your method IS entirely PRACTICAL if, however, messy! The DT's also seem to GAIN oil level during the interval!

Yes, Karl, I understand that...

And I'm probably heading that direction, when I discover one that I do like a lot.
Years back I rode em like I stole em, but won't be doing that foolishness any more.

I shall keep your wisdom in mind and temper my coarse diatribe. It would be better.
