Title: Got Stig & Scooter blessed today
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on May 13, 2017, 08:42:51 PM
Had a great day visiting this event at our local big store dealer. We're a small town ....but he's 100 yards off of I-70, so they get plenty of distant business.
"Do you guys do scooters?"
Because I had another commitment, the two Christian leaders of the event came out to the lot and laid hands on me and my LIKE200i for a lengthy prayerful blessing. Good guys. Gave me a sticker for my scoot that says Stig & scooter have been blessed for 2017..
The pastor asked where I got my 'parking brake'.....I said it's from broccoli, but sometimes you can find one on asparagus.
Disappointingly....I was the only scooter attending again this year. I go to this event also thinking I'll get to meet other scooter riders.

Lots of stock available. Saw some guys getting appraisals of their bikes done in the lot.....gonna ride a new one home! The 400 Burgman has lost the nice red stitching in the seat and only one color choice.

Scary nosed bike...look at the radiator on this thing!(https://s1.postimg.org/eya2v31zz/P1010427.jpg)

Fav. bike of the lot was this nice 200! Why don't they still make seats like this?!(https://s29.postimg.org/obg5g3ayv/P1010422.jpg)

Rode the Burgman before day break....and took the LIKE to the park after the Blessing - almost too nice to go home.(https://s22.postimg.org/mix31dfz5/P1010437.jpg)

Unusual...but I received 2 honks and two waves from passersby today when on my LIKE200i. It looks good on a bright sunny spring day, I guess.!

I wish I could have gone for my blessing last year at this time. Who knows if things might have turned out differently. Pastors need blessings too. 😀.
But at this point in time, im kind of glad that the event was too far away. Otherwise, I might have gotten the scooter bug again and totally ignored my family's wishes. As of now, I'm giving them time to get over my mishap before I think about taking the plunge again. But if I had gotten around a bunch of new equipment , some blessings, and an enthusiast like Stig. I might have simply told my family to "get over it". 😂😂😂😂

...and You were the only Bold fellow to ride a scooter to the meet-up ???

wow!

WE gotta fix that !!

...and yah, that scary-nosed bike...  Not my style.
( I can definitely imagine tiny pebbles and road debris impacting that catch-all radiator !  Yikes !  )

Great pictures and whatta bike store!  I saw "Powersports" in one of the photos. Is this in addition to Competition Accessories?

Comp. Accessories renamed themselves  RIDE ONE. Same folks as far as I can tell.
Still high prices on parts, serv. and they never negotiate on prices unless it's  a long left-over model....and have seen them drop that sale and return to list.
They must be doing something right.  Been in business a long time.

CROSSBOLT cannot comment at the moment, Meester Steeg. He is presently sedated and physically restrained as a precaution. He went into train-wreck-mode when he read Comp.....and we had to act. I assure he will be back to normal in a few hours. Will advise.

Probably have some weird requirement of making money on what they do.  It's so counter-intuitive that it just might be their secret...

Two ways of doing business, squeeze every penny outta people and do low volume or discount and move a lot of inventory. Seems a lot of mom & pop places have given away to mega dealers around here, most do not discount too much, parts are usually better from online volume dealers out of the area (at least Suzuki and Aprilia, haven't found a decent Kymco discount dealer).

IDK, success might be connected somehow to the staff of pretty 20yr old females in tight jeans and low cut T shirts that prowl the salesfloor.
They lost me day one, when I was shopping my first helmet and couldn't find one to fit my 4X head......the girl impatiently said, "It's  just a scooter!"
That's when I met Revzilla.
I do appreciate having a local place to buy my proper lubricants.
All other parts come in the mailbox....

What a fun place to hang out for an afternoon. The lack of scooters though seems to be a little disappointing. Kind of like a duck out of water. May the Scooter Force be with you Tom.

Now that's funny. Maybe you just go to browse eh. :)

Reminds me of the sales staff at the local Fiat/Alfa Romeo dealer, all female/young could be models.

Ground control to Major Tom; Watching those tight jeans will get you in trouble. May the scooter force be with you. (I like that Dan)

I enjoy a fun sales staff.  :-)

and I've had good reason to give it quite a bit of thought...

With little regard to whatever widget it is that you build,
It is advertising that will bring interested parties to your door.
At that moment Everything becomes dependent upon the salesman.

Dear Withheld,
Update?
Can he have visitors?
Need anything for the gift shop?
Can I have his tools if he doesn't pull through?
