In case you missed it, on FB I suggested laying a towel, or sheet of cloth under the seat and draped over the sides as a buffer between the side panels and your saddle bags. Could help stop the abrasion problems that you mentioned.

LOL I like that.  The other day a friend I know and her kids saw me.  The kids said, "Mom what is that up there coming?"  when I got close my friend said "Oh that is Kathryn!" can see her a mile away! LOL

Should help you keep from getting ran over.

Clear 3M protective film (think clear bra on a car) on the side panels is a better solution.

Good looking bags and great user reviews. I use an NRS dry duffel bag on my rear seat for touring/long distance rides.

Kat, gud is redneck for good. It's sort of like this:
1ST REDNECK; A R PUPPIES
2ND REDNECK; A R NOT!
1ST RN; S A R, S M P N
2ND RN L I B!, A R PUPPIES

this is redneck short hand. Can you read it? Read it aloud just like it's written and listen to what you are saying.

Yeah I priced some of this plastic stuff and it cost to much for Kat's liking.  40$ no thanks for a small strip. :)
