Hi guys,
Soon it will be due to replace my front brake disc.
After searching high and low, I discovered that demon tweeks is having a clearance sale on the EBC Vee-Rotor discs. Worth a look as I can vouch that it's really well priced now.

The Vee-Rotor from EBC Brakes is the latest addition to their ever growing brake rotor selection. This new eye-catching design has been developed in line with the on-going trend of riders customising/personalising their machine, rather than simply just replacing parts like for like. The ‘Vee-Rotor’ features an aggressively styled ‘wavy’design, with radical new machining techniques making for EBC’s lightest weight rotor profile. Their fully floating design features EBC’s unique and patented S-Drive button system, which use square sided rivets captured in square drive pockets on the rotor and hub allowing the outer rotor the ability to expand and contract freely under the heat of braking without suffering rivet lock – preventing distortion and vibration. EBC have also developed a range of solid rear discs, made from heat treated stainless steel with the same outer rotor design to fully compliment the front rotors.

Morning,
My EBC VR rotor arrived in the mail.
Looks the business. The manufacturer claims they are full floating.
From experience, in the past full floating didn't that a spring washer at the buttons, so perhaps this is new/current technology?

Yep, pretty cool. I have one of those, too. Bought it at a yard sale.
Keeps the bacon flat while frying.
More importantly: is that your bank statement under the disc?
If you're in Mexico ...that could be receipt for a pair of new NGKs. Just under $5 American.
If you're in the U.K. - that is ....impressive.

Finally got around to get my new front rotor mounted. Of course new pads as well. Factory fitted rotor already at 2.52mm, which is way below the recommended min 3mm.
1) remove front wheel
2) remove front rotor and speed pickup disc
3) cleaned spindle and wheel spacers and lubed with silicon lubricant
4) mount on new rotor and speed pickup disc, threadlocker on bolts
5) removed old pads, cleaned caliper and lubed brake pad position bolt
6) installed front wheel
7) installed front pads
8) test ride

As you can see at 47,600km, the original rotor is heavily worn.

I have 85,000 Km. on my downtown , and my discs, look like new , no wear that you can see,. I must be a old man riding, coasting to the stops, of coarse the 84 years help, ha haa!

Well, if you attend superbike school, the instructor will ask for you to round ride the track without using your brakes which forces you to 'read' the road and adjust your speed accordingly.

I noticed that my rear disc is more worn out than one on the front tire, the first owner must have used rear brake much more.
i think that both disc are in spec (gonna confirm that when i get chance), my question woul be: do you guys think is it a good idea to switch them up? - meaning put rear disc at front and front on the back tire, because i'm braking more with rear brake

in the automotive world when brake rotors are replaced they are paired with new pads. You're asking about swapping your front and rear used brake rotors to help even out wear? Assuming they are the same size, you typically don't' want to use old pads with an old rotor.
Would it work? Probably...but not something i'd consider. If your rotor wars wears out just replace it with a new one.

I would recommend not swapping them, as the brake pads have already worn to the grooves of the disc. There would also be a large gap due to the different diameters between the brake rotors. Both of these would lead to loss of braking performance.
Best to get a new rotor and pads at the same time.

I say stock brake disk should last 100,000 miles. Stock works fine. Why go thru the trouble? In over 400,000 miles of Maxi scooter use since 1990----never had to replace front brake disk.....and I am heavy front brake user.

For mentioned reasons, NO, do not swap rear with front brake discs.
You can't look into those material.
In my experience front and rear brakes wear out pretty equally, but since in most of the cases its a lot of work (not to say a PITA) to change and maintain a rear brake with all this dismantling of muffler, shocks and most of the time axle- carrier.
So its seems to most of workshops and clients easier and cost effectiv, to change rear brake pads only.
With known result, thinned and grooved disc.
