Title: Need backup key for 2011 Downtown

When I bought my DT they only had one key. Where can I get a key with the key slot part?

Get a blank and have the hardware store copy the one you have.

Home Depot cuts motocycle keys, but like Karl said, you need to get the blank that matches your DT key, first.

 :( I need the top part of the key tat unlocks the key slot. Where can I get that.

Now I understand what you meant by, "the slot part." Do you need the whole key WITH "the slot part" or just the black plastic?

If you are in the US try kymco parts monster. I assume you are looking for the plastic part with the magnet as well.

I have found scooter keys on ebay...with the magnets etc.
And have found them by google.
Never had to resort to dealer prices for three kinds of scooter keys....even the much feared Burgman keys!

Amen to that!  The dealer key prices are completely unfair.  I think for my GV250 the blanks is like $12? then you pay to get it cut and hope it fits.  My local dealer marks things up 50% over list price so it would probably be about $27 OTD.

I have 2013 and i have bought a new key from my reseller here in sweden for 7usd, ok price.
But the magnet on top of key is not possible to buy without the hole ignition part for 130 usd. 😭
I googled a lot and have not been able to find only the magnet part .
Is there anybody out there who know where?

Did you check on ebay?
Magnetic key blanks for many  scooters there.
Or alibaba/Chinese sellers by a google search?
