Title: Kymco Like windshield installation
Post by: Andr3w1 on September 13, 2016, 09:37:27 PM
Hello!
I tried to install windshield on my Like.
So I have to screw this windshield in four different places. Two of them on mirrors and two of them from the below side of stearing.
I have to open stearing (two big plastic parts with speedmeter and headlight) and I have no idea how. I know I have to unscrew mirrors at first and then all four screws on stearing, however I have know idea what to do next. I can shift these to plastic parts a bit, but I am not sure if there is something else to do, or I just have to use a force.
Thank you for any help.

The Kymcos are really snug fitting on the "tupperware" plastic body panels! There will be several snap-in locations along each seam. The screws are insurance the pieces stay put. It is not a factor now but popping these panels apart should be done above 70 F or the tabs may break. Start with your fingers and either squeeze or probe along the seam(s) to find where the tabs may be and guess what has to be squeezed in and what has to move out. A flat blade sometimes helps in prying the tabs but you have to be careful, patient and use special words. Once you get one loose the rest will make sense. There are others on here that have more experience on the exact covers you are working. Give them a little while and they may add to this.

You don't have to open plastics you have to remove blinkers
