A cup holder would be nice for long rides.
A place to put my GPS would be too.
I'm not a big fan of drilling into plastic fairings so I guess it is just the mirror stem. What have you done with mounting accessories? My problem seems to be that I'm 6 feet tall and that doesn't leave a lot of excess room between my legs and the handlebars. Not that big a deal for everyday riding but if I'm to mount any acc. then they need not take up any of that precious room I have there. What solutions have you come up with? Comments welcome and pictures appreciated.

Wayne, go to Eye candy and videos and check the GPS and TPMS combo post. It did involve drilling holes in the plastic!

On my 500, I used ram-mounts that attach to the top of the brake reservoir - from amazon.(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CMNXIO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CMNXIO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1))
then: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q02X8H4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q02X8H4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) (a socket arm with lock)
then:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KO5XVU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and finally: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088LL7UA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088LL7UA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) ( spring loaded cell phone/gps holder that you can remove the phone/gps using one hand instead of the X-mounts that require you to use both hands)
Here is a photo link: (http://i68.tinypic.com/1ieebq.jpg)
I have installed a 12V accessory plug on the dash to power my phone/gps. Amazon has a large selection of ram mounts.

Thanks Charlie.
I haven't been a big fan of those res mounts. Do you put it over the original and then screw through them both or does it replace the original brake fluid cover? What was your experience with them? Recommend?
BTW, Are those heated grips in the pic? If so, you have a link to them and your review?

This cross bar has lots of room to mount stuff

I've bought from these guys and they are ok. Freight can be a issue.

I purchased one of these waterproof GPS holders for my LIKE and it attaches under the mirror. Got it from ebay and there are a few different types available.

Paul and a mac. Those are great ideas.
I raised my handlebars, with 2 bar raiser sets, one straight up, and another offset, so I could sit back relaxed.
That meant I had to remove the plastic, so bars are naked now...
I was wondering how to get a Chinese go pro knock-off mounted, since it does not come with a chest harness.

Wayne:
The Ram-mount for the Reservoir goes over your existing cover. You get replacement screws and a set of bushing shims that hold the ram-mount plate just above the original reservoir cover. You don't take off or open the existing reservoir.
I've been very pleased with the system. I use a droid phone for gps and communication (Uclear helmet Bluetooth). The phone doesn't vibrate much (done about 3K miles with the mounts since December '15) and I've never had to tighten any of the system up since initial install (I've checked for tightness but nothings loosened).
No those aren't heated grips- just some "Grab On Grips Grip Cover - Fits From 1.25in. to 1.45in. OD - 5in.L, Color: Black MC402" through Amazon to increase the grip diameter some.

A friend has the system on both brake reservoirs and uses one for her gps/phone and has the ram drink hanger for coffee/water/etc. on the other side.

I like the idea of the cross bar but does it allow you to keep your original mirror mounts? I'd like a screw through option and will look for something like that but the link shows mirrors moved to the front windshield plastic.
Thanks for all the feedback on this. Looks like another purchase is coming soon. I know the ram mount stuff is good and I like the idea of mounting that to a crossbar as to not put any undue pressure on the brake res.
