Title: Averaging 2 MPH ??
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on July 20, 2016, 11:12:36 PM
I have a tach which also tracks the engine hours on my LIKE200i. I installed it a few months and a couple thousand miles after the scooter was purchased.

If I have figured things correctly - the engine clock indicates that I've been on the seat of this scooter for over 180 days - straight.
It being aircooled, I warm it up a bit and then get going, unless I'm taking pictures.

VERY gently apparently  !
The miles ridden with the tach installed tells me that my average speed during those engine running hours was just a tick over two miles per hour!

2 MPH !?

How can that be? The engine clock on my truck, vs the miles on the odometer, tell me that it moved at an average speed of just over 25 MPH. I've long sense tossed the instructions - would the engine hours be reading in error by a factor of 2 - because it's wired to a 4 stroke? 4MPH would be respectable....

I think I am over-dressed for my scooter outings!

Leaving the scooter idling while having early morning coffee?

EDIT

Got to thinking about this while riding today.....wondering?

Sure enough ....a much closer inspection of the tinytach reveals a decimal point that I had not seen.
So, make that 18 days on the scoot and a bit over 20MPH average speed!

I was going to suggest you take it off the center stand every once in a while.  ;D
