this complete idiot has locked me key in the seat compartment and yes the spare is in there aswell..any ideas of how to get it out

A thief will simply pry the seat open with no concern for damages. OWNERS are concerned with opening the seat without damaging it or the rest of the scooter.
Therefore, holding back information does not stop the thief. But it will prevent an owner from getting into his own scooter without damaging it.

I edited my reply.
I guess others might keep something of value under a scooter seat. I never do.
One can't start a scooter by going under there.
Doubt if there is a quick flip to open a locked Kymco seat.
You certainly would mess up the seat if you had to force it. I see that point, too.
The world doesn't seem a dangerous place to me at 5:30 in the morning, watching the sun come up over my scooter with a great cup of coffee in hand.
Ah well.

It takes longer to open the seat using the methods shared on this forum than it does to break into it like a THIEF would. A THIEF does not have the time to access cables etc. he has ZERO love for our scooter . So unless your method of opening the seat without the key is QUICKER than simply prying it open as a thief usually does, then sharing that information does not put our belongings under the seat in jeopardy.

I'm with Forbes on this one. But I have no idea how to get into the seat. But if it was mine, I would figure something out.

Of the many notes I take about my scooter and from this forum, I have made a note of the ignition key code. With that bit of information, I think the dealer could help you out.
