Title: Front wheel bearings.
Post by: kneeslider on June 01, 2016, 01:59:47 AM
Hi,

My scooter has just gone past 30,000km on the odometer. During the past week I have notice, felt and heard a rattle, craking and clunking sound from the front end.  Checked if anything was loose which would be rubbing or hitting something, found nothing. Shock things around, nothing. It was only there when I ride.

So after a week, it's getting worse, looked again and notice the rubber seal off the left wheel bearing is on the axel. Spun the wheel, not really smooth but still solid, zero freeplay.

At this point in time, I do not know exactly what is the problem. Anyone have similar issues?

Yup. Front wheel bearings were shot.

New bearings installed, she totally rides like a dream now. Night and day improvement. Amazing how gradual deterioration can numb our sensors of what is normal.
