its the cheapest I've found.
I use this site regularly, but don't buy if you need it tomorrow!! delivery is very slow, normally about a month! (to UK).

Funny that you should mention that. I just inspected mine yesterday.I don't think I'm going to have to change mine for a while. Does anyone think its a good idea to keep a spare, just in case?(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160522/1744035e17f58709406d60d4eade3914.jpg)(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160522/7646e1282e3cdb9ee22f0161d92341ce.jpg)

Ok,I'll see who has the best price on an original Kymco belt. I don't want a cheap knock off.

Checked the price at my dealer , original part , around $65.But mine should last at least 20,000 km .

Wow, that seems like a very fair price!! I've seen them for $89 and up

My dealer offers gates booster dn(red text on the outside part) and they have worked perfectly fine, no snaps, and I rode them to the service limit.
One third the price of original.

Speaking of drive belts. anyone think there should be a time limit on how long you drive on one time wise before changing? It will be years before I get to the mileage limit of when it should be changed. Just like batteries, tires and helmets have recommended time limits wondering if you guys thought belts should have one too. I will open it up this summer and look at it but as of right now I've had the DT for 4 years and only 4800 miles on it so far.

Short answer: probably a wise move to replace.
Long answer : I am betting the rubber component will deteriorate over time.
Tyres have a 5 year limit I believe.
The strength material will likely last forever, unless it snaps from stress.
If you cruise like on a lazy Sunday drive only, then stress will be minor, and you will likely see the belt is still in pristine condition.
It will be interesting to read your report on the condition of the CVT when you check out later.

Similar to tyres, the rubber will react with oxygen and lose flexibilty and strength over time. The workshop manual states to change it every 20,000km, but it's safer to spend less than $100 for another good few years more.

Very important part for your and bike's safety.
Aliexprsss suppliers may have figured out how to spell and print kymco on a rubber band and a plastic bag. Maybe not.....
I would buy this OEM only part from dealer or kymcopartsmonster.com.
Most scooters probably like best exactly correct length and width belt.

Your link didn't work for me, but if you mean this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/KYMCO-GENUINE-Parts-DOWNTOWN-300-SHADOW-300-K-XCT-300-Ninita-CVT-TRANSMISSION-Belt-OEM-KAWASAKI/32352099852.html (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/KYMCO-GENUINE-Parts-DOWNTOWN-300-SHADOW-300-K-XCT-300-Ninita-CVT-TRANSMISSION-Belt-OEM-KAWASAKI/32352099852.html)
Sounds like a potential hassle and a bit of a wait and hope customs don't want some duty from you...
Alternatively, you can get a Gates belt for the Downtown 300 supplied from within the UK for £60, free click and collect at Argos within a week.
