Title: iPhone mount
Post by: djpo on May 16, 2016, 07:36:15 PM
Anyone have any recommendations on where and how to mount an iPhone (6s Plus) on the Like? I'd like to be able to use it for TBT directions from Google Maps.

There doesn't seem to be much space on the handlebar for mounting, so I figured I'd put it on the bracket for the windscreen. But... the bracket is too large on the one I just purchased (it fit nicely on my Cannondale, so I'll keep it for that).

I could just keep it in my pocket I guess, since I use a bluetooth ear bud in one ear, but I thought I'd ask the experts :)

The one I got was this one from amazon. the bracket just doesn't close enough to secure it.

If the bracket is not too huge, you can cut a piece of rubber (I save old bicycle tubes for this) and wrap the bar in rubber and then put the clamp on. Rubber weather stripping will also work or  foam backed double stick tape. Anything that's a little grippy that will fill the gap will work.

I had to buy three separate pieces to mount my GPS/Iphone holder.  Here's some pics of it mounted on my Genuine Buddy which has a similar windshield bracket as the Like. Here are links to the parts you need...

Doesn't RAM make mounts for nearly every device? I do know their "dog bone" and ball mounts are very good. The ball that goes on the bike shares the 8 or 10 mm mirror mounting. Also most of the I-phone devices are hard to see in daylight.

I have an iPhone 6+.. It fits, but I have to use the webbing that comes with the mount to make it really secure.
