Title: Wind and Bug protection. Removable deflector.
Post by: Forbes1964 on March 05, 2016, 05:08:29 PM
I have a 2009 Xciting 250. And I see a potential problem. BUGS ON THE VISOR of my helmet.

I LOVE the ascetics of the original windscreen. So I don't want to get the clear and taller Givi screen that so many have. But is there a removable clip on type of deflector that I can attach to the original screen on an as needed basis?

I regularly drive beside a cow pasture and sometimes beside swampy areas. Even in 70 degree weather the bugs are a mild problem. I can only imagine how bad it will get during the truly warm weather. Bending low behind the screen helps some. But that gets to be very uncomfortable after a while.

One of these links below should work for you.

I must say that the last link is the one I like the most, just my personal taste.

Well
Now you've got me thinking about that last one!
Might be nice to snap one on my Burgman before setting off on a sunrise coffee run of 50 miles on a really cold day.
Sunrise today was 31°F so not necessary. ....but colder rides might be nice. Take it off for city rides.
Does it threaten to crack a screen? Is my concern. ...

Stig, I have never seen a hint of the screen cracking from installing the slip screen.
Of course,  normal common sense must prevail,  in that if your regular screen already wobbles now, then adding additional stress will certainly be stressing you when it breaks off at high speed, and knocks you off your great scoot.
Not you specifically, just hypothetically speaking..... 😐

.

Stig . 31 degrees is not a colder ride? I guess Florida does have me spoiled and soft. Anything less than 45  has me freezing after about 25-30 minutes. My hat's off to you brother.!

Looking forward to what you get and how it works Forbes. Made my own out of lexan but if I had it to do over, would probably have gotten a "real" one.
