...dude, i know this is no conselation to you, but your misfortune made me go check my belt...

NO... mine failed while I was going 80 MPH, in the left lane of the junction of US 80 and Highway 5, the roadway was 6 lanes wide at that point. I ended up in the center divide. A sports bike rider stopped and I called for a AAA tow.
I make it home safe. I did need to move a garage door opener (with the 8 foot bar still attached) out of the way of the tow truck.

I had about 10,000 KM on the belt but I did some damage to the belt when I incorrectly installed my sliders. I have not checked the casing for additional damage.

Wow!!! Something i never want to experience! At speed damn! Did you Find a reason for fault or just a fluke?

I was told that I could expect 15-20 megameters out of mine, and to start thinking about replacing at 15Mm.
I just replaced mine at 17.3Mm. Before the Great Entanglement. Which, IMO, is best.

..oh, it's best alright...
..one belt that my scoot exploded wound itself so tight in the clutch, that it actually de-formed the torque driver pulley...
