Title: derestrict kymco agility 50

i have a kymco agility 50 2005 its only done about 800 miles from new, top speed on the flat about40, is there anything i can do to make it faster, i cut into cdi but it doesnt seen to have made a difference, any help please cheers lee

..Welcome to th' Forum 5029lee!!

..could you post a pic of your cdi, or tell us what the colors of the wires are?

..there are different installations of variators, and yours may have an external wire that can be removed..

..there is likely a bushing on the variator boss...the bushing will need to be removed, or replace the boss with  one that has no bushing..

..this will allow the pulley halves to come closer together, and make your drive belt ride higher..

..there are numrous youtube vids on how to do this...

COLOURS ARE

BLACK/BLUE
BLACK/YELLOW

..gleaned from an OLD post in this board...modified..

Basic instructions for replacing the boss drive: 1-Remove bolts(8mm socket) from the cvt cover  2-Remove hex nut (17mm socket) from crankshaft 3-Remove outer half of drive pulley(drive pulley face)  4-Remove drive belt from shaft  5-With left your hand, hold inner half of pulley(movable drive face),and with your right hand remove the boss face drive(variator spacer). Be sure that you hold the inner pulley half securely to insure that the roller weights remain in their proper position (they could fall out)  6-Insert new spacer  7-Install belt  8-Install Pulley half and hex nut..(add a bit of blue Lock-Tite)  9-Install cover...

..enjoy the increase in performance!!!

..notching it should have removed the restriction...how deep did ou make the notch?

Try cutting deeper. The wire may be down towards the top side of the case.
