zx50boy do you have like a 250cc mod on that thing? that seems fast maybe you meant to say speed in km?
-
50mm bbk 44mm stroker crank andd much much more

Bullsh**!!
I TOTALLY AGREE>>>.. STRAIGHT BULLsh**.... IT'S NOT POSSIBLE ON A ZX, Not with that engine A 250 swap yeah, the sc-10 cases? bullsh**.. ALLLLL DAYYYYYYY
-
zx with biggest stroke and bore without modding cases, carb , pipe , dynotuned with 98ron fuel and motul m800 premix, polini variator, light weight clutch , red spring in final drive , gets 100-110kmh with a 113kg rider .... reckon it would get another 10 with someone say 65kgs gets aweful warm at those speeds though , be nice to do a watercooled mod ...
-
be nice to do a watercooled mod ...
For all the effort I would rather an S9
-
Can some one explain to me which wire do you cut from the CDI and how.If some one uploads a picture of a CDI done like thiss i would be very grateful. Smiley
-
The DARK green wire gets spliced into the light green. Cut the dark at the cdi, and splice it to the light...

Hello from Hawaii. I'm a newbie here, got a 2003
Zx50 that goes 69-74 gps recorded. Mods for my zx are 72cc polini contessa ported, ruima 44mm crank, ported block, kelli pulley with stock 8.5 an6 rollers, kelli heavyo clutch with 2000 springs and,1500 center spring, oko 28mm carb with 135 mj n 38pj, malossi primary gears, pg long exhaust pipe, and stock cdi. So with all this, motor comes out to 77cc. Sorry no pics.
Wanna thank you guys for the motivation on keepin my zx rather than selling it.
-
..welcome to th forum beastly!..
..sounds like you got y'self a good setup!
;)
-
.Thanks wordslinger.
I'll post up pics soon.
Down here in the 808 its mostly og elite n dd50.
-
Welcome aboard Beastly. There are a few bad ass zx's around the forum. Always good to have another one
-
I forgot to ask. What is your final drive ratio? I am trying to get lower than 8.3:1. Tooooo many rpm for long 70mph runs
-
how you doing zombie.
well my gears are from malossi usa, they are primary gears 16x32 which will be 6.9 to 1 ratio, they are also straight cut.
my final gears are stock just changed the primaries.
with this your rpms should stay at a minimum with alot more power yet to be used. trust me, with the right tuning, this should put you well above 70mph in no time. i've reach 69mph gps recorded in only 1/4 to a little pass 1/2 throttle.
the draw back to this is that you will lose low end. thats why i use staggered roller weights 6 and stock 8.5 for my size.
from what i've learned here( you might know already) tuning is not made only for the motor but also the rider who uses it.
find the roller weight set up for you and your zx will surprise you.
hope this helps you and everyone else out.
Sorry i forgot the gears are made for kymco djy, it will fit perfect on a zx50.
-
oh i forgot, the guy who said that his zx goes 70 cruise then to powerband of 80-85, its not possible without out your frame flexin.
that must be a drag bike, cuz where i from not even a full stroked 82cc to 125cc elite's, dd50's, and sym (dio's) reach that, yet alone be for daily use.
not to say anything bad, but please its pass your bedtime WAKE UP!lol

I learned something new right there/.....
-
I was told that they don't fit...news to me also. ::)
-
Yeah, it's been my experiance.. Gears are a bitch to get for the z..(malossiusa has a primary, or did. Our gears are history these days.)
-
The primaries I've seen from Malossi are for the DJY...I was told they didn't fit the ZX.
Can't speak from experience on that one though. I went with the same Motorio secondaries you have.
-
I had seen a SWEEET price on some but of course it turned out to be for another kymco.(think it was the S9 ??? :-[)
Would be nice for both sets though... ;) :D

I've often thought about that poster, and the responses he got. It is MOST likely he was NOT bull sh**ting, and has a drag set up. You SURE can't ride that on the street or there would be pieces EVERYWHERE!
I called Steve (MHR) about the gears, and he THINKS there may be one set left from the ZX modding days. I won't find out till Monday, as the warehouse was closed today.
There is a difference in the Dio gears, and the ZX gears but the DJY I do not know. I will take you at your word, and order a set if Steve cannot find his set. I am hoping for a 5.7:1 final. That should tame the cvt torture. 1/2 throttle is all I can really use. Once the pipe hits it is all down twisting, even with 9gr rollers. I don't care about the bottom end as most of my "commute" is on Hwy 98. Around town I do a steady 45-50, and no one notices.
Thanks for the help Bro!
-
IDK bout that...
That's fkn fast on the SAME KIT,same set up we have... did he even have any gears at all?
-
PLUS...
NEVER any rebutal, comments, NOTHING... Just POOOF... "out like trout"
-
Maybe he said F' these no nuthin's. Just saying... It can be done.
-
If he's "cruising" at those speeds, that's not a drag bike, that's street
-
Oh Yeah! I didn't think draggers were into cruising... He was a F'in LIAR!!!
F' it. I'm Tired anyway
-
;) ;D
-
Was up guys? Trust me the malossi primary gears for the kymco djy will fit perfect. I did have my doubts about it but it work perfect.
With all the set up you all have, with these gears your goals will be reached and then some.
-
Great to get confirmation!
Do you happen to have the part # from the gears you have?
-
Here is the part # for the gears on malossi usa, #676458. They cost about 95 dollars.
They are made for kymco djy, djx, and cx.
Hope this help you all out.
This should be run with the stock secondary gears.
-
Thanks for the Number. I have an unknown set of secondaries installed, and have no OEM gears. I will order the primaries tomorrow from SPI, and give it a shot. (this is if MHR dosen't have the set I wanted) I just realized I do have an OEM set in the engine I built for the Malossi. Either way I will post up results for you guys.
-
Sweet! 8)
-
Still Moding it Shaka?
-
No...I'm done messing with it after the last FULL rebuild! Nice to know compatible parts for the next go-round though. ;)
-
the next go-round
There's ALWAYS that one...
That's why I have to sell it. I hate when it's not perfect.
