Title: Re-use valve cover gasket (o-ring)

I'm noticing my valves ticking or what sounds like them ticking.  I want to check them and adjust if necessary.  What's the chance of re-using the gasket on the Xciting 500?  Manual  calls it an O-ring.

I do re-use most of my gaskets. I also use OMC perfect seal on all of them. You can find this at most marine supply houses. If you cannot find that Indian Shellac is a good subsitute. I stay away from ALL silicone sealers, unless I need to glue something that needs to come apart again. The Indian Shellac can be found in every auto parts place.
