I've been searching on this site and i see alot of you are using 4 to 4.5 rollers. is that the best weight to use? the racing kits i'm finding have 8.5 and 9 gram rollers. what is best?
-
What are the stock rollers in yours?
-
to tell you the truth i have no idea. whatever comes on a 2001 poeple?!??!!!
-
Do you have a copy of the service manual yet? It should give the specs. Check under the service manual thread.
-
..been trying to get all service manuals up in that thread..
..if ANYBODY runs across a good link to a manual, post the link there...
..your brothers will thank you...

Stock rollers should be 8.5.With a pipe stock air 6.5 works well.after mods I'm running 7.0 any thing heavier without clutch tuning was no good for me might be able to go 7.5 with the next spring up running the white set now.I'm a little over 200lbs.Hope that helps.

..i just now installed a complete upgrade to my cvt...
..it's raining, so i can't do much more, but i think imma be lookin' at 7 gram rollers to be th' bomb...
-
Should do the trick. It was best for me still running stock varietor not for long though.just had about 5 to 6 inches of rain here in the great north west,Going to be a short riding season here if it don't turn around soon :'(
-
..i ride every day..i just get wet when it rains...
..whers are you??
..seattle??
..it's always raining there...
-
Portland oregon, sometimes just got to ride. The weather has been crazy hear last couple seasons, snow freezing rain.Buy cheap in the the winter build sale high in the summer if it ever hits here ;)

im runnung 6 gram rollers right now. i had 7 gram rollers in there and i think i liked them better. everything is stock but the pipe on mine. i had the 7's in there til a few days ago when i put a new belt on. (im 200+ too!)
-
My pipe came with the 6.5s it was a good match till I kitted. That 3/8 hole in the air box and a #85 should put you at 50+mph.don't like the hole thats what duct tape is for Ha!Be sure to put it before the air filter.
-
..there's NO WAY i could attempt 6.5 rollers in this ppl with a k&n filter...
..it would spinn the rear tire and then go nowhere...
-
Ya I,m now runninig the 9g on my kitted bike and 8g on my stock build and think i can go back to stock 8.5g when i get the carb to work right for me
-
..i may go with 9 gram rollers instead of swapping out the drive face...
..hhmmm...
..i gots 3 sets of brand new 9 gr rollers...
-
9g a little too much for me at the moment It's o.k.but 8.5 better all around.Till new clutch shows up.
-
..yeah, my ncy clutch bell is lighter than OEM too...
