Title: Tires for People s200
Post by: unclehowlie on January 29, 2010, 07:46:01 PM
I am looking for replacement tires for my s200. I have not been pleased with my kendra tires. I have been having a hard time finding a brand and model tire that has 100/80 16 front and 120/80 16 for the rear. I ride my scoot year round so I need a decent all season tire. What tires do you recommend that has both sizes for the people s200? Who do you recommend to buy tires from?

Thanks,
Alikhan

You don't mention where you are, but in the U.S., your selection is going to be somewhat limited. IIRC, the People S200 has the same tire sizes as the People 250 -- 110/70-16 on front; 140/70-16 on rear, right?

The most readily-available is the Michelin Gold Standard, but reviews are mixed on these. Supposedly they wear very well, but are not the greatest for feel/grip.

I personally was pretty happy with the Kendas. I got over 14,000km on the OEM rear tire, but probably should have replaced it at 11 or 12,000km. Since my dealer had a Kenda on-hand, and I knew he would not sell it to anyone else, that's what I just replaced my rear tire with this past Wednesday.

UncleHowie I would guess is USA. What I found happened to my Kenda was Fuel soaking into the rubber was separating it from the belts. As a 2t tire I would NEVER buy another. Maybe model/ maybe type/ maybe Me. But it is true Size Matters  here's where I got my last tires from     http://www.bikebandit.com/tires/c/a642336a5a12a634751 (http://www.bikebandit.com/tires/c/a642336a5a12a634751)
