my carb doesnt have the clip so i cant raise the needle.what can i do to raise it?and which way is lean and rich
-
You may be able to put a washer underneath it. Raising the needle allows more fuel to pass = richer.
-
Rich is raising the needle, and lean is lower. To raise it you can use tiny washers or "O" rings. You can also cut your own slots using a dremel tool.

..what I had to do with my stock carb was to shave a bit of material off the needle's black nylon retaining clip..
..i also filed a small amount from the top of the needle's head..
..then I filed down a small washer to .025"...this washer i placed beneath the head of the needle, then carefully installed the nylon retainer...
..don't force the retainer...if it won't turn to lock in place, file a little more off either the washer or the bottom of the retainer...

did you put only one washer in ? i put only one in mines

..yeah, .025" works well with my main jet / air filter combo...
-
would that work on most gy6 engines. I have a nst that has carb promlems not get enough gas
maybe this well help it.

..i'm not sure what works on most gy6 engines...
..my engine is a CK139 QMB-2...
..my carb has CK50QT-5 on the diaphram cover...
..my scoot seems to require a larger main jet than most others, with the K&N filter, it requires a 102...
..I believe that I might have a different build than some other A50s around...
..and i'm almost positive it's waaay different than most chinese ..
..what I have been able to find out by searching those numbrs is, that my scoot has a different piston and rings than some others..
-
how do I know what engine I have?
-
..dude...i spent many a n hour cross-googling every number i could find on my scoot, and evrthing led me to the Kymco's Changhzou plant in China...the # un my carb led me to the engine spec...zombie helped me out a bit, and if my browser would translate chinesea bit better I could learn more...
..cross-googling...
