Title: DT won't start

Ok so my poor DownTown 300 sat for a year, and the battery was not on charge. I charged the battery and it will turn over but I can't even get it to hit. Kick stand and cut off switch are working fine. I can hear the fuel pump kicking on. It is full of gas. just don't know what to try....on a carburetor engine I would put some gas in but the DT is fuel injected.....any help????

Id jump start it.. i guess your battery is done. Then get a new battery but just to get it started try that before

  when you get a new battery get the highest rated battery you can find, at least 310 CCA.

Thanks for all the help....I charged up the battery and got it started....still going to get a new one. After it runs when I shut it off its hard to start...might still be the battery or maybe the spark plug and I'm sure the gas is not great in there. I put some gas treatment in to help out till I can run it out......

If your spark wasnt bothering before now theres no reason it should.
Id drain fuel. Get a battery. Check fluids and tire pressure and go in a nice long ride. Id love to own a downtown...

yes beermak I think your right about the spark plug......I tried it this morning and it fired right up. I live down in St.Petersburg Florida and the weather has been really nice. I love to ride my DT to work. I did take the time to give her a nice wax and next week I'll take her into get a good look over and oil change.

Great! Take good care of your ride.. Treat her nice she will give back a smile in your face! Enjoy her uve got an amazing scoot imo. I hope someday to get a white w/abs but at 12k usd its not going to happen soon :(
