Has anyone used a steam cleaner to clean their scooter? I have it in my mind it would give a deep clean. Just wondering if there is a risk of damage?

Depends on the pressure output. 3500 psi can blast paint off and cut ABS plastic at close range. 1500 psi is pretty harmless if not held too close. Blasting crud out of tire treads at 1-2" will not harm the tire but this close to connectors on engine may force water into the connector joints.

Folks over on the Burgman forum caution about forcing water into wheel bearings, as well.

I take mine threw the do it your self car wash all the time. But I always leave the scoot running and go with the low seting spray. I try my best to stay away from the wireing and the carb.and any air intake.

Steam cleaner would probably be good to clean engine but not sure about the plastics just don't try to force the flow of steam into anything

Can cause problems with electronics and wash grease out of bearings.
