Title: Idling RPM
Post by: wkreps on February 12, 2016, 06:37:09 PM
What does your Xciting 500 idle at. My 2010 runs anywhere from 1000-1200 RPM on the gauge which seems low. Service manual specs 1400 +/- 100. Any help appreciated.

Mine, also 2010,anywhere from 900 to 1400(cold start) ,but generally at about  1000-1100 and occasionally 1200.
This random idle revs seems strange to me.

In the next few weeks after I get a new battery, I'll update you after I do an idle reset.

Same after an idle reset. I think I'm good.

I would say any rpm below 1800 that is STABLE with no tendency to stall is probably good.

After the stator replacement, my 500 is still idling at 1000-1200.
I also did an idle reset, and same result as you, no significant difference.
I have noticed less spluttering after the initial cold start, during  actual driving, at the pull away it splutters a bit,it used to be very bad.
I think I will put that improvement down to the new exhaust cam.
