Title: Is it safe to cut in the middle of the CDI?
Post by: Jonas on February 01, 2016, 12:50:27 PM
I wanna know if it's safe to cut in the middle of the cdi to potentially unrestrict it.
It's a 2014 kymco agility city 50cc.

in the middlie up in the front of it yes.Thats how I did mine.  but you need to double check to see if you need to. I heard after 2010 you don't have to.

Is your model before 2010 then?
From what I've read on youtube it is a vital part of the box in the 2010+ models.
The fact that mine is city and not just agility will probably not change much except that it was made a bit more nicer.
Does the box from a 2009- work fine on a 2010+ model?

How do i check if i need to?
The rear wheel doesn't feel restricted, it goes faster when it is in the air. I think it's the front wheel that limits it. Can the CDI restrict the front wheel instead?

No its no the front wheel. And yes the back tire will go faster in the air there no weight on it. find some local help to give you a hand and explane things to you.

There is no local help as far as i know, my friends have scooters that are 2009 and back. My undcle knows how to do it on old ones from the 80's so he won't be to much help for this.
