Title: How many miles can I expect?
Post by: Forbes1964 on January 25, 2016, 02:56:30 AM
I recently purchased a 2009 Xciting 250ri. I was wondering how many miles can I expect to get f on it before MAJOR problems? This is assuming that I maintain it properly. I'm especially wondering about typical engine life. I know that there are no guarantees in life. But just wondering what most people get.

Also, what are the weak points of this particular scooter? Any things that I need to pay SPECIAL attention to?

Thanks you guys.

Oh, most of my miles will be rural moderate (40-50 mph) and high speed (65mph) driving with occasional city driving.

The kymco 250 engine is very reliable. Seen many upwards of 50k. Change oil with good synthetic every 2000mi. Belts every 10k and rollers. Valve adjustments every 5k.

Thanks. Do you recommend the factory type rollers or the sliders that I've read so much about?

How old are you? How long do you expect to live? Or at least be able to move around well enough to ride? That's how long it will last. IMO.

That's good to know because I plan on driving it a lot.
