Title: True Gell Battery. Cold stert fix.
Post by: sissy mary on December 18, 2015, 01:00:04 PM
My old battery was getting real weak. Just barely turned the engine over. Bought what is called a true gel battery from ebay for $77.00 & free shipping. Can't beat that! It has gel inside, no water/acid. Must weigh 25% or more than the old battery? Turns over/spins engine faster than any other battery I have ever had. It was a bike master true gel. You fuel injected guys with cold starting problems may want to look into this. Next step up would be a lithium at about $200.00 or so.  :-*

I installed a lithium last year and like the way it performs. Especially in the cold. Give it a minute to warm up and fire away. Also holds a charge longer than old one, and with a start every couple of weeks to charge, it doesn't require a battery tender.

Lithium, FIRE AWAY  :o  Don't know if I want to use Lithium and fire I the same sentence.
That Lithium battery is pretty lightweight, isn't it?

yes, it's considerably lighter, about half as much, and smaller.

also has 5 year warranty instead of one. Cold weather, warm it up by turning o0n and waiting as much as 5 minutes for it to wake up and come to full charge. And no battery tender mostly.
