Hello guys. I'm about to purchase an exhaust for my scoot. What's the difference between catalyst and non catalyst? Is there any difference in performance and decibal sound?

in a car we use to put them on for power boost and a little throaty sound, that was 40 years ago for me,.

I thought you had to have the catalyst if the fuel system is EFI, as the on-board computer needs to know the exhaust gas readings to correctly adjust fuel quantity to deliver to the injector.

new catalyst have little back preasure, not like the olden days, so it will be almost the same ,. it will be how it is built, streaght pipe with holes and packing, into expanding chamber then out rear pipe,.

You can run either one.
That said I've been there and you'll shave a few pounds off and get a deeper sound but little in the way of performance upgrade. As a rule just an exhaust mod does little on these 4 strokes.
If you're hell bent on it id look at the Arrow Reflex II.

Hello Guys and Happy New Year to you.
Not really looking to gain performance, I just want it for looks and sound. I know that there is a street version and race version, but I want to keep the decibal level as low as possible. As long as it dont decrease performance I will be happy. Arrow exhaust looks too cheap in quality. I like the look of Mivv or Zard.
Thanks.

I got 10,000 miles in three years on a arrow and it looks as good as the day it went on.
The Mivv, IMO are sh**. I had one rust out in a year and the cheesy plastic parts fail. Overpriced crap. Take a close look at the welds on the Mivv in your link. Yuck.
Can't tell much from a photo, that's how I ended up with the Mivv. Gotta touch'm, feel'm and hear them to get the real story.
