Title: New Kid on the Block
Post by: skipper20 on November 25, 2015, 05:53:59 AM
Today, Tuesday Nov. 24, marks my 2nd full week of Like 200i ownership. Except for the seat, which I posted separately on, it's been a great ride. I got the scoot, a 2013 with 3,800 miles, from a Kymco dealer here in Seattle by trading in a too-heavy for my 82 yo legs 408 lb. '09 Sym Citycom 300i maxi scooter. It's been a near perfect downsizing. I've topped it out at just a bit over 60 mph indicated which I figure is about 55-57 actual. It's no freeway flyer but I was starting to feel a bit uneasy at 70 mph up and down the I-5 freeway anyway. My first full tank of gas got me 68 mpg. Mostly stop and go in the city so I'm thinking 70 mpg plus when I'm on the open road. The 163 cc EFI engine is very responsive and purrs like a kitten when idling. I do like those 12" wheels and tires and disc brakes both front and rear. The bike's fit and finish is excellent and comparable to my 2012 Genuine Buddy 170i Italia which I store at a Tucson friend's house for my visit there during the winter months. Count me in as a very satisfied (except for that damn seat) Like 200i owner. This seems to be a very good user's forum and I look forward to learning and contributing in the years to come. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello Bill, welcome to the forum. Another north westerner  here down in Oregon. I seem to fit the seat OK so no problem for me. I have about 7K miles on my Like with no issues. I have done most of the maintenance including valves which are a snap to do. Enjoy the new ride! ;)

Hi Bill, another left coaster here down in Cali. I've had my Like for a little over 3 years and nearly 12,000 miles. Except for two OEM battery fails and a leaky seal behind the variator the Like has served me well. I'm 5'9" and the seat for the most part fits me fine. Do checks the tightness on the screws and bolts. Had an air box mounting bolt go missing and the bolt anchoring the starter electrical cable go missing causing sporadic starts until I discovered the issue.

I bought my 2013 Like 200i new almost 2 years ago. Just topped 4,000 miles. I love it. I wanted to reply on your mileage comment. You should keep in mind the mileage will depend on the ambient air temperature. Far as I know, the scoot' has no air preheater. So, when it pulls in cold combustion air, some of the combustion energy goes to heating it to exhaust temperature. I've found I get maybe 70 mpg running it between 40 deg and 50 deg, and over 80 mpg at the peak of summer. Best of luck, and stay off the freeway. You gotta be nuts to want to drive next to semis.
