Hello! I noticed recently(last 2 weeks) that I can hear a strange sound when I turn the throttle. It sounds like a high treble, crunching of like wax paper. it comes destinctly from the back right side as im riding-maybe from the muffler..? At idle, there is no sound, the sound only happens when I go from stopped to moving. I dont notice it so much as im cruising-but then again it could be that i just cant hear it. I really notice the sound when I first accellearate. if im going at a slow cruise i dont hear the sound.
mileage: 10,451
last oil, oil filter, and trans fluid change was at 9000 in 4-16-15
any ideas?
I checked the dip stick and the oil looked a little low....

You check for loose bolts or missing bolts/screws on muffler?

no loose bolts...sounds like clicking -chick chick chick

Check your side muffler cover. I find myself having to tighten them every so often. Sends out a faint rattle sound. Check the rear muffler cover too.
Make sure that your disc brake pads are not worn.

I spoke to some folks from Kymco at the AIMexpo here in Orlando last month. Spoke to a few different folks and they both said the same thing: weight bearings.
Apparently there are some round shaped ball bearings of some sort that get misshapen after awhile and start to rattle around and cause the noise. Anyone ever heard anything like this?
The parts are cheap enough-but the replacement requires removing some of the plastics and also messing with the drive belt--guess Im a little gun shy being a novice and all.
I guess if I do this I may look into changing the belt to a slider...?
