My bike with a new stator, ignition, and cdi has stalling issues. Examples:
1. I start up, drive 50 feet through the driveway and stop before entering the road. When throttling again the bike stalls.
2. I'm driving 40 mph and decelerate fast to see something and the bike stalls as I stop.
3. I'm driving 45 mph and slow to a stop to make a turn. The idle is noticeably low and when I throttle again it stalls.
Examples 1 and 3 can be overcome by a short priming twist of the throttle. Number 3 can be dangerous in traffic.
Any ideas?

Is the CDI an original equipment replacement . . or some aftermarket "performance" variation?
Did you check valve clearance as suggested in your previous thread (http://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=14573.0)?
Have you verified the carb pilot-slow jet (http://modernvespa.com/forum/topic82623) is not obstructed?

After 10 minutes of riding the idle seems to slightly improve and the stalling goes away. Any idea why?

No, and no idea what that is. With luck I won't have to touch it.

that sounds like a fueling problem. Running better when it's warmed up is a pretty good indicator of a lean condition. It might be time to watch a few videos on cleaning carburetors. Did the bike sit for a period of time? If so, that would also point to carb issues. If you're mechanical enough to do a valve check you're mechanical enough to clean a carb.

It's been used regularly by me but I bought it new in 2013 and it's a 2010.
It gets 1oz of techron every oil change and on occasion if there is any mild hesitation. Wouldn't that keep a carb clean?

It's your valves. Intake (top) valve should be set at .004", Exhaust (bottom) valve should be set at either .004" or .005". The stalling issue occurs because your valves are out of whack when you start it cold (because they tighten after sitting for a while). As the valves warm up, they expand a bit and (in your case) it runs better because the valves are within reasonable clearances.

In essence, yes. Depends on how often it's used. It's still good practice to disassemble and clean the carb to make sure your jets are up to par.
