This is the second time this week I have been pulled over. Both times they could not find that I did something wrong. I think it is because they cant catch the bigger bikes so now its time to pick non the little guys.

Were you exceeding 30 mph (http://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,4670,7-127-1585_15242-236804--,00.html)?

50cc scooter rules are abused a lot here in my state. You need a valid DL and ins to legally drive one. Reg is a $5 sticker every 3 years I believe. Play by the rules or pay up like the rest of us.

They say "Quotas" for citation writing no longer exists; but it looks like each County is different. I was pulled over three times in the last five years or so. Each time was Hillsborough County (I live in Pasco County). Each time no ticket, just a BS reason. I avoid riding there now (as much as I can).

Yellow jacket got pulled over on his gt300. Actually the officer followed him out of the parking lot after leaving the store. She appeared to be waiting for him to get on the road before stopping him. Something about a rolling stop coming out of the lot, but he was convinced she was checking for a MC endorsement on his license. No ticket, only a warning. Just another layer in the crackdown on moped abuse. She was probably thinking she was going to catch an old guy with out proper credentials for riding a highway capable bikes. This was in NC by the way.

and another layer of taxpayer dollar chasing would be mopeds.
This never goes over well but if it got a motor and its on the road it needs to be licensed and insured.

Another reason could be some areas scooters are a popular item to steal. Some areas require proper registration and a DL. At the same time they are popular for people to drive w/o DL due to a DUI. The thought is no one will notice them! Many reasons they may stop a scooter. I know a person who had theirs stolen and know of another guy illegally riding his with revoked DL.

With all those impounded bikes there must be a ton of violators.
Or are you saying all those riders were "set up" ?

In my state, traveling more than 10 miles UNDER the speed limit is against the law.
It is in the drivers hand book.

Most the scoots are stolen. the cops don't know they are stolen untell they pull you over.and they run the vin. or the driver don't have the reg. for it. Or the driver trys to ride with out a license . So they take the scoot from theam.
