Hi-
I just bought a 2004 Vitality 50 2T. It looks to be in really nice shape, with 1182 km on it. As stated in the subject, the seller tells me it has not been started in 6 years. The motor isn't seized - at least I don't think it is. It seems like it is turning when I kick the starter. It came with a motorcycle battery charger, switchable between 6 and 12 volts. I've set it to 12, and have been charging the battery for about an hour.
Now when I turn the key on, I get the oil warning light and a buzzer sounds. If I press the passing light switch(?) the buzzer silences and I get a very dim headlight. I know I'm probably going end up buying a battery, and I'll likely need to drain the gas. What else should I have to do to get this beauty going? Does the 2 stroke oil need to be drained too? I'll also check the trans oil level, and the brake fluid. But am I missing anything? I'm a car guy, BTW, and know nothing in the ways of scooters. Thanks in advance!

Take your carb off and do a complete cleaning on it. Be careful with it and make sure you do it on a clean flat surface area so you don't lose any small parts

Also go ahead and change your spark plug. I like to use NGK spark plugs

Thanks for the info, and the link. Not getting anywhere with the charger. I expected as much, since it's been dead for so long. Ordering a new battery, and well see how she does after that!
