Title: Any one using one of these vests?
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on June 30, 2015, 01:36:34 AM
Ordered one of these today from the U.K.

Kind of a take-off on these serious looking fellows..... Dutch police ...."POLITIE"....these vests (which look so much like British motorcycle police vests) gets attention for the confusion it causes in the car drivers minds....at least in Europe & the U.K.
Will see how it works in Ohio. Also, note that most are wearing modular helmets.

I like the color and pattern.
Hate the goofy euro printing. Right up there with a spot light on an old Plymouth Fury. Screams fake cop.

In light of the new world order I don't won't to look like law enforcement anywhere anythime.

I wear a HF safety vest, looks like what a construction traffic flagger wears. $7 and I notice folks eyeballing me more. Might look goofy or not cool but I don't care. They work for higher visibility. At night the reflective stripes light up like an xmas tree in cagers headlights. If it avoids just one hit in a lifetime is it worth it? I think it is......during the day I have a couple of bright yellow and orange tshirts I wear to be seen easier and wear without the vest, but at night that vest is the only option the way those reflective stripes light up.

I don't think anyone argues that.
It's not the HiVis that goofy it's the printing.

That goofy printing is what sets this vest above the others.
It is the only reason I bought it.
I will post findings that support this " printing" .....for others who may be interested.

Glad to see you already made your conclusion....
How very scientific.

Enjoy whatever floats your boat. If you think it works then it does.

Oh yea, hmm give me 1st crack at whatcha gonna give away. I'll pay for shipping if I can use it. I think you might have some good stuff................we cleaned house a few months ago, 99% of the stuff was my wifes and I wanted to try and sell it or give it to a needy person on craigs. She wanted nothing to mess with that, it all went to goodwill type charity here called ARC. Sometimes it's best to bow down and shut up and let them think they're running things. YES DEAR, YOUR RIGHT SCHNOOKIMS, ANYTHING YOU SAY IS COOL WITH ME!

Well hell if the guy selling it says so it must be.
The only HiVis that works...like a force field around the rider.....goofy.

Sold out of 5Xl, obviously popular with the gym crowd.

If it works for you have at it.

Thanks Doc,
Will do!
Will also note how long it takes to get from the U.K. to Ohio....things from Asian 2-wheel suppliers come remarkably fast! (4 or 5 days from HongKong, Japan, etc.)

The way I see it is:   Look Professional.  My bikes are purposely set-up similar to a UK Police Cycle.  A couple of times I used vinyl letters on the windscreen that said "POLLIO". ( A Roman General).  I'll do anything to catch someone's attention and I've been fairly successful.  I have six hi-vis jackets and never ride without wearing one of them.  At stop lights people usually stay back one car length.

I'm thinking along these same lines.....whatever I can do to be seen. I can deal with most of the stuff happening in front of me by careful riding....but feel most vulnerable from those behind. Go with POLITE, POLIZE, whatever it takes.
