Title: Brake bleeding

Im considering buying a brake vacum pump.. but here they arent 25/40 bucks.. waaaay more here

So i was thinking of a way of doing it...

Get 2 disposable syringes. 1 syringe will take out old fluid from reservoir. Load the 2nd one with fresh fluid. Open nipple and force new fluid through. Empty reservoir and repeat.. until all fressh fluid gets the reservoir.

Am i crazy?

How much fluid gets every circuit aproximatelly?

Not sure you can force fluid back into the reservoir....B&L would know.
I never had a vacuum pump to bleed VW brakes....one guy presses brake pedal (lever) other guys opens and closes bleeder nipple until new fluid comes out. Second guy keeps track of fluid level in the reservoir.

You can reverse flush. Some swear by it as this is the directions air bubbles flow. You can get larger syringes at Tap Plastics or for even larger go to Tractor Supply Co or similar outfit.

I was going to try this method, but I have a MityVac which cost me brand new about $30. I've used the MityVac for years on my cars and motorcycles. Someday I'll give the reverse flush a go.

I've got two vacuum bleeders, and I swear every time I go to bleed brakes like that I get frustrated and go back to old school pumping and it works great lol. Get yourself a milk jug, install a length of vacuum hose in the cap, then put the line on the bleeder. Mess free bleeding, works every time. If you have long arms you should be able to pump and open the bleeder solo, or get a buddy to help pump the lever.

I did old school... Hose container and pressing the leaver. Straight forward... Great result!

If one knows how to do the old school, it´s still good school. No doubt.
But on the other hand I never had an issue bleeding my motorcycle brakes with the vacuum pump.
And the advantage is, that you won´t need a buddy to assist you pumping the lever.
