Title: Canyon Dancer for Kymco Like?
Post by: atxscooterguy on May 19, 2015, 02:21:40 PM
Has anyone ever used the canyon dancer on the Kymco Like 200i? I'm planning on taking a trip to the coast (about 6 hours) with the scoot in the back of the pickup. Wasn't sure if regular ole' clamp straps would work best or if it's worth spending the 30 bucks on this thing. I've read reviews that several people have had their handlebars bent, and I'm not sure how the kymco would hold up with it. Any experience?

Have used Canyon Dancers on People S200,People S250 and Downtown 300i without issues. If handlebars were bent there was probably TOO much pressure on straps and front forks .

+1 we sell the Canyon Dancer, and they rock. Not NECESSARY, but they will save your grips and make synching down a breeze.

When using the canyon dancer, make sure the cross strap does not interfere with the switch clusters. (Horn and Start buttons). I've used canyon dancers religiously with no issues.

Ok, sounds like a decent investment, I wouldn't want my scooter flying out of the back of my pickup truck, that wouldn't make for a very decent vacation  :o After reading reviews I decided to go with a similar product on Amazon:

I'll post pics and a review for anyone else that may be transporting in a pickup or trailer.

Thanks all!

I've used something similar to that and it work out great and I did not even have to tie down the rear tire...just the front. that was for a 120 mile trip ( highway )

I have two Canyon Dancers and have used them on Buddy 150, Kymco Yager, Like and DR 300i. Tied them down in trailers, pickup beds and hitch haulers. Did modify by making 1 1/2 inch PVC inserts 6 inches long with a 5/8 inch shoulder (sawed from a straight coupling) to keep the Dancer from crushing the switches like Sousamoto said.

I brought my Like home from the dealer with a canyon dancer. If I haul it, I have it. Saves on possible scratches and gives me peace of mind.

Well my review will be delayed, we flooded pretty bad here in Texas this weekend so we were unable to take our road trip! Was looking forward to driving the Like in South Padre Island! Would've made for some sweet pics!
