Title: Tire size on the 700 uxv
Post by: pndwv on May 11, 2015, 10:50:31 PM
What is the largest tire you have used or seen on the 700 uxv looking for more ground clearance
  Thanks,Paul

I've seen pics online with 26 inch tires! that's what the sp model comes with I think. I was looking at putting 27x10x14 all 4 that way I can rotate them. I have an 08 grizzly 700 with 3,000 miles and it's had 27 inch tires it's whole life with no problems.

I was thinking of a 27"or 28" x !4" same size all corners

I wish I would have done the same thing on my grizzly. Now my front tires are worn way more than the back.

I just put 27x9x14 and 27x11x14 Motohammer tires on my 700, works good for me.

That's a nice looking tire but a little on the heavy side for me. I live in south Texas and it gets pretty muddy down here that's why I chose the zillas not aggressive enough to break an axle and they are lite.

They are a little heavier, but I need tough tires that won't get a flat when I'm racing. I would like to do 30" tires, but I think I would have to reinforce the entire drivetrain from the motor to the hubs to drive those tires.

I was reading up on those tires I don't think a bullet from a Sherman tank could give you a flat with 8 ply side walls

Thanks! I hate to cut it out, but it was only a temp solution until my arms can be made. It sure is fun to look at though and worked great. Scroll down further and check out the ATV suspension, that's getting a bit wild.

Yes it is :) Speaking of tire sizes, the ATV has 28's on 15" wheels. It also has 110 hp to push them.

Wicked al try putting a boss boss 502 in the uxv I don't think there is a need to build that motor either.   :D

Hmmmmmmmm.....I'm a Hemi guy, Hellcat has a nice ring to it. Might have to relocate the seat. Speaking of mods, I discovered the Fiat 500 is about the same wheelbase as a UXV 700, that would make a fun body change.

               Thanks,Paul

Laidback, looked up the Boss Hoss, agreed, wouldn't have to modify that motor at all, might need a slightly larger fuel tank though.

Paul, The tires are on MSA M-21 Lok wheels. These are 14x7 with a zero offset.  http://cocomponents.com/dealer/m21-lok-utv-wheels-beadlock/ (http://cocomponents.com/dealer/m21-lok-utv-wheels-beadlock/)

Because there is no offset, it will make the vehicle a few inches wider as the stock wheels have a positive offset. Because I also did the wider tires in the back, I stretched the bed another 6 inches wider to accommodate the tires so they would tuck into the fenders on full compression.

I'm sure other manufactures have tables like this too, http://cocomponents.com/dealer/wheel-specs/ (http://cocomponents.com/dealer/wheel-specs/) you can see which wheel has the right offset. I haven't measured the stock wheels so don't know what they are. Bolt pattern is 4 on 110.

So I had to check out the boss hoss 502. Interesting build. I was surprised when I watched the video when it raced the ninja zx12. Ninja wasted it, I thought with that motor it could keep up. :(

The boss boss weighs a lot  I think it's a little over 1,600 pounds.  :o

I doubt weight is the problem on that. lol. That's a lot of motor for that, he prolly can't hold it wide open. I just wanted to see it beat the ninja.
