JUST WONDERING IF THE SPEED IS RIGHT--52MPH (SPEEDO ONLY SAYS 50MPH)ON A SLIGHT DOWNHILL AND MORE ON THE TACH ""WOW"" FOR A 50CC SUPER 9 WITH REV LIM & BOSS DE-RESTRICTED---HAS ANYONE GOT MORE WITH SIMPLY MODS AND IF I DO EXHAUST WILL IT DO MORE ???

Congratulations! You have entered the zone of super fine tuning! ;D The spedo is usually a bit optimistic, but your probably pretty close to 50mph. I have found it very difficult to achieve over 52mph (on spedo) with my zx50. It has been much trial and error with trying to fine tune the carb to get that little motor to spin faster! It is possible to get yours faster, but not by any simple mods I know of. A new exhaust may help, but you will probably need a new intake/carb to really see an improvement.

I've never used Opera, I just use google.

I use Opera 10.? I had Chrome, and firefox. Opera has a lot more features that apply to the real world. I found it faster, and easier. I am still a basic noob though.

I have a ZX that does 50mph with a aftermarket variator and cdi derestriction, a People50 that does 50mph with a derestricted boss drive and derestricted exhaust and a Yup50 that I just bought yesterday that went from a 35mph stock speed (I expected 30mph, just like every other scooter but was surprised by 35mph), I did the cdi modification and it shot up to 40mph. Later today I will do the boss drive and see how fast it will go.

Shaka is getting frustrated. Perhaps you may have an idea for him. Keeps bouncing on the 50mph mark when he should be closer to 60 w/ his mods.

My setup is stock. Just the aftermarket variator and the cdi modification. Stock cylinder, stock exhaust, stock carb, stock airbox.......stock everything else. Maybe I'm just really aerodynamic

Wow, mine would only do about 42mph with the CDI and stock but unrestricted variatior! You must be aerodydamic, I don't know, I'm pretty skinny though! :)

Well us skinny meme's do have that areodynamic ability, I'm 6'3 170. My ZX is not just a derestricted boss drive, the whole variator/weights were replaced with a high performance one with a different angled face plate and variator face. I never just derestricted the boss drive with stock variator to see the difference. I got the variator from VT Cycles in Hawaii for around $60.00. I believe it was a Kelli racing variator, not sure what gm the weights are. On a flat nice stretch it will go over 50mph....a nice paved road with no wind that is. On average it's around 50mph I once got it to almost 60mph going downhill.....and it wasnt scary at all, it was actually quite comfortable.

I did everything to a chinese 50cc scoot (jonway) and could do 50mph on a flat road....for about 1000 miles, then it started coming apart at the seems. to answer Your question, both. You are crazy, and Your scoot may have done 50+- MPH ;)

There you go shaka!!! Just throw more money at it, and it will go faster! Not to rub salt on you, my scoot cost $300.00, and so far I have about 1,600.00 in the GOOD stuff. The next engine alone will be that much plus, 1/2 that again. I would suggest though you get what you have running at it's PEAK, before jumping to the next part. I kinda did the reverse. Worked on the cvt, suspension, then engine. I don' suppose it much matters though. Which ever multi-var you get try to be sure you can match a clutch to it so you will have NO trouble w/ fitting a belt. In my case the kymco stock belt was too big for the malossi multi-var alone, and the malossi was too small to use w/ the stock clutch. I got about 6 mph on the clutch and belt alone.

Thanks! In my case I always have to have something to PLAY with. I am constantly tweaking something to it's limits. Perhaps that has something to do w/ three marriages.
