Title: Brand spanking new ...
Post by: wifeduck on May 07, 2015, 02:38:10 AM
I got an 09' Super 8 150 for Christmas, finally got it tagged yesterday, and my learners permit today.  I have my motorcycle class this weekend.  I have been a passenger for a couple of years, but that doesn't really prepare you for the drivers seat like they say.

I did go out this evening for a short 5 mile ride, but whew was i nervous!

Welcome to scooter ownership and to the forums. I took possession last March of my first scooter ever and yes, I was nervous too. read everything from the DMV and practiced a lot in parking lots before taking it on the streets. Pass the DMV test first go around and never looked back.

As a 2x lymphoma and stem cell transplant survivor, that isn't really an option. Fortunately, my dependents are all grown up.

Went out this evening and did about 20 miles, feel way more comfortable than yesterday.

Congrats! Enjoy your new Super 8! As Obark mentioned, just take it slow & be a defensive rider. I don't get out like I use to but it's fun as hell taking a quick run on a scooter. Be safe.
