So my brand new 2012 Super 8 2t seems to be leaking 2 stroke oil directly undereneath the floorboards. At first I assumed that the dealer overfilled it, but it's been several days and I've got about 20 miles on it, but it's still consistently leaking, even when not being ridden. I would just bring it to the dealer for warranty service but they're a good 30 mins away and I figured I would diagnose the problem myself so they can order the part ahead of time if necessary. I'm just about to the point of taking things apart to find the leak, but before I do is there anything that would be the most likely?

If they over-filled it badly it could drip for a week after the overfill. Not too many places the bike can leak 2t. Is there just a drop a day kind of leak?

Like mine maybe where the oil sensor plugs into the oil reservoir. The oil travels along the wire and down onto the fender in the front of the rear wheel. I try to keep the oil level below where the oil sensor plugs into the oil res.
I need to fashion some sort of oil dipstick to know when to fill the tank and to what level. Right now Im using my index and forefinger.

It's a bit more than a drop a day. It's more like several drops wherever I park it. I haven't had to add oil to it myself yet, so how does one avoid overfilling? Don't you just fill it up to the top?

Not on this bike you cant if it leaks.
My theory as a previous mold designer is that the tolerances of the molded reservoir and plug sensor are not to specs or the design fails.
If you shouldnt over fill, there should be some sort dipstick or way to know how much to put in.
Its a nice bike and I like it a lot, but there is some real cheezy aspects of it too.

Take the seat out and see if you can see where it's leaking.
It could just be a lose clamp on the hose leading from the bottom of the oil resovior to the oil pump.

Well I took the cap off and had a look. It's still nearly full. I'll give it another week and see if it stops. If not then I'll start taking stuff apart.

I don't have Super 8 2T, but do have People 50 2T and Super 9 LC. Both those oil tanks have a marker inside the tank that shows where the tank is full and it's a little below the top. Look around on the black plastic near the fuel and oil openings and you will probably find a message explaining how to tell when oil reservoir is full. It's probably not obvious, but after you see it, it will make sense.
Take something and suction some oil out. You have probably overfilled the oil tank and it will leak until you use up enough oil to get it below the point where it's spilling over the top while you are riding. That's my guess. Cheers

It wasn't overfilled. The tank was half empty and was still leaking. I just came back from the dealer and he said he had to replace a seal and that they've seen it happen on a few of these. He wasn't specific about what seal.

OK, I bet the dealer can fix it.
